All Scottish towns, cities, counties and islands including Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Glasgow, Perth, and also the Orkneys, Shetlands and Western Isles are in this region. The largest geographical PubWorld region, it contains a great deal of open country and is much less densely populated than the English regions, with over 6,500 pubs.
This area stretches along the eastern side of the country from the northern edges of Greater Manchester, to the Scottish borders. It includes the towns of Clitheroe, Leyland, Ormskirk and Preston. Towards the Yorkshire borders lie Burnley, Colne & Nelson. Along the Fylde coast lie Blackpool, Fleetwood and Lytham. Lancaster, and the coastal town of Morecambe, are in the north of Lancashire. Cumbria is home of the Lake District, including Ambleside, Coniston, Grasmere, Kendal, Keswick and Windermere. The coastal towns of Maryport, Whitehaven and Workington lie on the east and in the north of Cumbria we reach Carlisle and eventually the borders with Northumberland and Scotland. There are almost 3,000 pubs in this region.
This is one of PubWorld's smaller regions with around 2,800 pubs. It stretches from the border with Yorkshire in the south, to Scotland in the north and includes the cities and towns of Alnwick, Barnard's Castle, Bishop Auckland, Consett, Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Middlesborough, Morpeth, Newcastle upon Tyne and Sunderland.
Although this is a small geographical area, it contains major centres of industry, business and entertainment. The cities of Chester, Manchester and Liverpool are in this region, along with the towns of Bury, Bolton, Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Macclesfield, Oldham, Rochdale, St Helens, Stockport, Warrington and Wigan. There are over 6,000 pubs concentrated in this area.
Yorkshire is PubWorld's third largest region with over 6,500 pubs. It extends from the border with Lancashire to the long stretches of its coast where towns such as Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby are found. Yorkshire includes the cities of Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield and York. Major towns in the county include Allerton, Doncaster, Halifax, Harrogate, Hebden Bridge, Huddersfield, Ilkley, Keighley, Ripon, Rotherham, Settle, Shipley, Skipton and Sowerby Bridge. This search area also includes the Humber region where Kingston upon Hull and the River Humber estuary towns of Hessle and Goole are situated.
Although this area is geographically large, it is one of the smaller PubWorld regions with around 4,700 pubs. From Snowdonia National Park in the North, to Gower Peninsula in the south, Pembrokeshire Coast in the west and Isle of Anglesey in the north west, it covers the whole of Wales. Cities and towns include Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Dolgellau, Llandudno, Llanelli, Merthyr Tydfil, Newport, Rhyl, Swansea and Wrexham.
This is one of the largest PubWorld regions with over 6,500 pubs. It stretches from the Potteries districts around Stoke-on-Trent, south to the Vale of Evesham towns in Worcestershire. Towards the Welsh borders in Herefordshire and Shropshire, towns such as Ross-on-Wye and Shrewsbury are situated. The region includes the major west midlands conurbations around Birmingham, Coventry, and Wolverhampton as well as Leamington Spa, Rugby, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick.
The cities of Derby, Leicester, Lincoln and Nottingham are included in this region, which has just under 5,000 pubs. It reaches from the Derbyshire Dales, including Buxton and Matlock, eastward including Chesterfield, Gainsborough and to the coastal towns of Grimsby and Skegness. Lincolnshire is within these boundaries and towns such as Boston, Spalding and Stamford are in this county. Northampton is located in the south of the region, and towards the centre are Corby, Ilkeston, Kettering, Loughborough, Market Harborough and Melton Mowbray.
Bordering the West and East Midlands regions in the north, and in the south bordering London and South regions, this area includes Aylesbury, Banbury, Bedford, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Hemel Hempstead, Luton, Milton Keynes, Oxford and St Albans. There are around 3,300 pubs in this region.
There are nearly 5,500 pubs in this region. It largely includes the area of East Anglia, and its cities are Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich. The southern edge of its borders lies along the Thames estuary where towns such as Canvey Island and Southend-on-Sea are located. The East of England region has the coastal towns of Clacton-on-Sea, Cromer, Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, and King's Lynn. Inland, it stretches to Peterborough, Colchester and Chelmsford, including Bishop's Stortford, Bury St Edmunds, Ely, Huntingdon, Newmarket, Thetford and Swaffham.
Central London is the area covered by the London postcodes N, NW, W, WC, E, EC, SW and SE. Although geographically small, this area represents a high concentration of businesses and there are over 5,000 pubs in this region.
This is the area around London which includes most Greater London addresses, as well as parts of Kent, Essex, Surrey and Hertfordshire. Major towns include Barking, Bromley, Croydon, Dartford, Enfield, Harrow, Ilford, Romford, Sutton, Twickenham, Uxbridge and Watford. There are approximately 2,600 pubs throughout the London surrounds.
From Land's End at the far south western point of England through Dartmoor, Exmoor, up the mouth of the River Severn to Bristol and down to the south Devon coast - this is PubWorld's West Country region. There are over 5,000 pubs in this region. Its cities and towns include Barnstaple, Bath, Bodmin, Bristol, Exeter, Falmouth, Liskeard, Newquay, Penzance, Plymouth, Taunton, Torquay, Truro, Weston-Super-Mare and Yeovil.
As its name suggests, this region includes the central southern regions, with cities and towns along the coast such as Bognor Regis, Bournemouth, Gosport, Lyme Regis, Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton, Swanage and Weymouth. This region also includes the Isle of Wight. Inland, the area takes in the towns of Dorchester, Guildford, Reading, Salisbury, Slough and Swindon, including Andover, Basingstoke, Chippenham, Henley-on-Thames, Maidenhead, Newbury, Petersfield, Shaftesbury and Windsor. There are nearly 5,500 pubs in this region.
This area has around 3,500 pubs. It borders the London outskirts to the north and in the south includes the coastal city and towns of Brighton & Hove, Dover, Eastbourne, Folkestone, Hastings, Ramsgate and Worthing. It takes in the north Kent coastal area, including Chatham, Gillingham, Gravesend, Margate, Sheerness and Whitstable. Cities and towns in the region include Ashford, Canterbury, Crawley, Dorking, East Grinstead, Horsham, Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells.
